Rather than just pushing a one-size-fits-all treatment plan, they take the time to learn about you, your specific needs, and how to manage your ADHD in a way that aligns with your preferences and goals. Even better, they can combine different types of treatment options (medication management and therapy) depending on what works best for you.

ADHDAdvisor.org’s diagnosis session is more affordable than most competitors, with only a $50 deposit and $130 payable after the appointment, both of which are covered by a 100% money-back guarantee. For therapy and medication management, ADHDAdvisor.org offers an impressive amount of freedom to mix and match for different package deals and subscription discounts.

While ADHDAdvisor.org doesn’t accept insurance quite yet, they’re happy to provide a superbill or receipt, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

ADHDAdvisor.org works with therapists from all across the US, meaning they had more options for when I could schedule my sessions. This let me fit my therapy into my schedule—not the other way around.

ADHDAdvisor.org  maintains strict standards for all of its therapists, from their professional certifications to therapy style and personality. As someone who has struggled with therapists in the past, I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable I felt in these sessions.

The formal diagnosis I received from ADHDAdvisor.org was one of the most detailed and comprehensive I experienced, even going so far as to include an ADHD Success Plan with the results. My therapist walked me through her observations, conclusions, and what they meant for treatment going forward.

Together with my therapist, Ashley, we designed a custom treatment plan using cognitive behavioral therapy instead of medication management, which I wanted to avoid. This level of control over my own treatment made me more comfortable and (I believe) made my therapy more successful.

Cerebral’s booking system was very simple and intuitive, and their therapist bios were useful when choosing my provider. Overall, it’s a solid choice for those looking for at-home ADHD treatment.

Similar to some other companies in the industry, Cerebral doesn’t allow patients to pay for individual sessions, requiring a subscription instead.

Cerebral is not contracted with Medicare, Medicaid, or any other federal insurance options. However, they do accept in-network providers, including Cigna and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Because they maintain a very large pool of therapists, Cerebral has excellent availability and the option for same-day appointments in some cases.

Although many of Cerebral’s therapists had experience treating ADHD, most did not specialize in it like other companies, such as ADHDAdvisor.org.

Cerebral uses a standard diagnosis process, using both your mental health history and family history.

With their large, diverse pool of therapists, Cerebral gave me a healthy amount of freedom to choose my own provider. Additionally, they offer both face-to-face and digital appointments.

Rather than specializing in ADHD, MEDvidi offers a broad range of mental health resources, including help with service and therapy animal letters. This flexibility extends to medication management, which is available depending on your home state. As an added plus, my diagnosing therapist was exceptionally kind and made me feel very comfortable.

Pricing transparency was one of the biggest flaws with MEDvidi’s services. Individual appointment prices were vague (between $25 and $195), and combined with the wide range of available services, this made nailing down a final number unnecessarily difficult. To make matters worse, MEDvidi doesn’t indicate how or when the final cost will be calculated when you try to book.

Accepts some insurance carriers but doesn’t specify which ones or whether federal payers are accepted.

MEDvidi typically offers appointments within 48 hours, although appointments are not booked immediately. Instead, the website confirms the appointment after you request it. Also, MEDvidi has more limited coverage than some competitors.

MEDvidi specializes in several mental health disorders, including ADHD.

Offers an impressively detailed ADHD diagnosis, as well as optional diagnoses for other conditions, like anxiety disorders or depression.

While MEDvidi lets you choose your therapist, they provide almost zero information about the different therapists in their network. Instead, you have to make your choice based on name only, without even pictures or gender included in therapists’ descriptions.


Next to ADHDAdvisor.org, Circle Medical was the company that gave me the most control over choosing my own clinician. That feature, combined with how quickly I was able to book an appointment, made them a top pick. Also, Circle Medical’s gender-affirming care and other inclusive resources make them an excellent choice for the LGBTQ+ community.

Currently, Circle Medical asks patients to pre-pay for each appointment individually. Because they offer so many different services and appointment types, it can be a challenge to understand the company’s different costs and deals.

Circle Medical accepts major in-network providers like Aetna and United but isn’t currently contracted with Medicaid/Medicare or other federal payers.

Circle Medical was more flexible than most, with same-day appointments available and a mix of in-person and virtual options, depending on location.

Unlike other companies on this list, Circle Medical doesn’t offer therapy appointments at all. Instead, they’re one of the better choices for affordable ADHD medication management.

Circle Medical’s clinicians were extremely professional and used my family and personal medical history during diagnosis.

Circle Medical is one of the best medication management companies available, but it lacks even basic support for things like therapy or success coaching.

Compared to the other services on this list, my ADHD diagnosis and treatment felt weirdly basic and impersonal. While my therapist tried to build a rapport with me, it was a noticeable change compared to companies like ADHDAdvisor.org or Circle Medical.

This company offered fewer pricing options than most competitors, with an appointment costing between $179 and $199. The initial appointment was also more expensive than other services, and my insurance would have not covered my ongoing treatment.

ADHD Online does not accept any kind of insurance.

ADHD Online had one of the least user-friendly scheduling experiences: my appointment was only confirmed after I had already paid and requested the appointment date.

All therapists are certified to treat ADHD and several other mental health conditions.

ADHD Online used my personal and family medical history to give a formal diagnosis but included fewer details than I would have expected for the price. Also, they asked for unnecessary information that caused more work for me and made me uncomfortable.

This company offers both therapy and medication management but not much support in designing a custom treatment plan.

Unlike some other services, Done’s prices and subscription information were clear and up-front—something I greatly appreciated. Additionally, the company’s fast scheduling process, 24/7 customer support, and direct shipping were all big points in their favor.

Done only offers one monthly subscription for its medication management, with $79 due at the beginning of each month (after paying $199 for the first month). While the overall cost was relatively similar to the industry average, Done’s initial diagnosis was more expensive than almost any other service I tried.

Done doesn’t accept insurance, but they can generate a superbill for your insurance provider.

Scheduling was hit or miss with Done: while same-day appointments are available, it was very challenging to reschedule if you wanted a different mental health clinician or had something unexpected come up.

Although Done specializes in helping with ADHD, their mental health specialists are also qualified to treat other mental health conditions.
